With the Rhino Statue, Villa & House’s artisans pay homage to a majestic creature through monumental design. Cubist principles of abstraction and geometry have been applied to the work, playing up the animal’s robust real-life profile with layered planes and blocklike shapes that appear like armor. Realized in bronze finished iron, this miniature interpretation is as burly as its subject, complete with a textural finish that resembles its tough natural hide. Stood upon a black marble base, the Rhino Statue brings wild and worldly presence to even the most refined spaces.
